Grandma Mother Me

In the film, we learn about three generations of women and how
a family secret affects their lives. What they are not allowed to talk
about is no less but the cultural and ethnic group they grew up with:
The Roma. Historical flashbacks not only on the family's history but
also for many other Roma people – with persecution, racial biology
experiments, forced sterilizations and finally a total assimilation of
culture, traditions and language. What happens to people who are
constantly told and it is their experience as well that what they are is
ugly and shameful? How is it that many from this group were outside
society and that abuse, misery and exclusion were so great? Why is
the culture of silence so strong?
