Our Roma Heroine

“Our Roma Heroine” tells the story of Esmeralda, a young Roma girl who overcomes poverty, prejudice, and bullying to achieve her dream of becoming a teacher and founder of the first Roma mini-library. When she encounters her high school bully years later, she chooses forgiveness, turning her journey of hardship into a story of resilience and empowerment. The film, directed by Olsi Sherifi, is made by the group “Our Roma Hero”, which is supported by the United Nations Peacebuilding Fund.
