Alina Șerban

Alina Șerban is a director, actress, and the first Roma artist to receive the Order of Cultural Excellence, Knight rank, from Romania. In 2024, she won the Romanian Film Center Competition for Debut Directing. The first in her family to finish high school, she studied at UNATC Bucharest, New York University, and RADA, London. Her play “The Best Child In The World”is the first Roma-directed work in the National Theatre of Bucharest's repertoire. She won four “Best Actress”awards for “Gipsy Queen”, including at the German Actors Guild Awards in 2020.
